How Do Neurotoxins Work?
Neurotoxins work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces the muscle activity that causes the formation of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. When these muscles are relaxed, the wrinkles and lines improve and will continue to improve over time. This treatment is safe and effective when performed by an experienced and qualified healthcare professional.
Treatment for Excessive Sweating and Chronic Migraines
Botulinum toxin type A has been shown to decrease sweating and excessive underarm sweating. Botox became FDA approved treatment of chronic migraines in 2010. We do not purposefully treat headaches or migraines.

How Does Jeaveau®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Botox® and Daxxify® compare to each other?
Botox, Jeauveau, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify are similar and work similarly. They all temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles. Dysport has the most active ingredient. Xeomin has the least amount and is the only one with no preservatives. Dysport and Xeomin typically kick in slightly faster than Botox. It is unknown how quickly Daxxify takes effect but it is said to last on average six months vs three-four months like the other neurotoxins.
Pre-Treatment Instructions/Notifications:
Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Fish Oil supplements, Motrin, Advil, Aleve,Ibuprofen and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
Schedule your Neurotoxin appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Results from Neurotoxin injections can take up to 2 weeks for full results. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.

Post-Treatment Care:
In order to decrease the risk of potential side effects.
Do NOT manipulate the treated area for 6 hours following treatment. Do NOT receive facials, microdermabrasions, or laser treatments after Neurotoxin injections for at least 7 days. Ask your provider if you are not sure about the time frame of certain services.
Do NOT lie down for 6 hours after your Neurotoxin treatment. This will prevent the Neurotoxin from tracking into the orbit of your eye and causing drooping eyelids.
It can take up to two weeks for results to be seen. If the desired result is not seen after two weeks of your treatment you may need to purchase additional Neurotoxin. You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for a product used during any touch-up or subsequent appointments.
Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. This will keep the Neurotoxin in the injected area and not elsewhere.
